As thanksgiving approaches I have been thinking over some of the things I am most thankful for.
There are the obvious, my health, it has been better lately than it has been for years it seems. My home, it is comfortable and large, not fancy but then I am not fancy either. Then there are my dearest thanks, for my beloved MJ and also my sons, who I adore despite their penchant for annoying me. I am thankful for my web site and for the women there who keep encouraging me in my quest to make it a comfortable, fun place to surf.
What has been coming to mind though in the last several weeks are I suppose deeper thanks, things I never really thought about until I began relearning how to live. For instance, I have begun to practice the bible principle of not worrying. God will provide my needs, maybe not in the abundance I want, but enough for me to live with. I have begun to really look at the creations around me and think about them. How intricate everything is for us not to have been created! How hard it must be for those who think all of this is just an accident!
I find I am thankful for the storms that wake me at night, refreshing the grasses and trees as they come down. I am also thankful for the country I live in, even for my state. Where I am free to live my life as I choose, and not forced to hide who I am or what I think and feel. I am also thankful that our way of life, which has been going on for thousands of years is being protected from those who would impose chaos and disorder and force us to accept those things that are neither right nor natural.
I am thankful we have leaders who are willing to make the hard choices, even when they are not popular. I also give thanks for my good friend Maggie who had faith in me, and my vision enough to give me her website and let me run with it. With her kind and selfless act opened for me a whole new world, one which I relish exploring to its fullest extent! With a full heart I praise our maker for my life and the paths he has shown me to walk with it.
As I ponder on all these things, I give thanks to God, I ask His protection on my family, friends, the women of my site, and for our leaders and the troops who are defending our way of life, and helping to procure it for others all over the globe.
And that’s my view….
